Mesothoracic discrimen [62]

Description

The mesothoracic discrimen is a median, ventral feature of the mesopectus anterior to the mesofurcal pit that represents the external indication of the invaginated mesofurca. The discriminal lamella of the mesofurca is sometimes visible through the cuticle even when an external indication is absent, but a discrimen was coded as present only if visible as an external feature.
