Shape of protibial spur (calcar) [102]

Description

Most Chalcidoidea have a curved protibial spur termed the calcar (Fig. 7g). Eulophidae, Tetracampidae, Trichogrammatidae, and some species of Aphelinidae and Pteromalidae have a relatively straight spur. The variation in this character was discussed by LaSalle et al. (1997).
