Apex of metatibia [199]

Description

A right angle truncation (state 0) is common in Chalcidoidea, whereas a diagonal truncation has been hypothesized as an apomorphy derived independently in Chalcididae and Leucospidae (Wijesekara, 1997). State 1 refers to a short extension of the metatibial apex, as opposed to state 2 as found in Acanthochalcis (Chalcididae). State 2 includes those structures in which the two metatibial spurs are placed mesally on the elongation, whereas in state 3 the outer metatibial spur is at the apex of the acute elongation of the metatibia.
