Exposed muscle of mandible [60]

Description

The posterior cranio-mandibular muscle attaches far from the mandibular base in some taxa, such as Mymaridae. This attachment is consistently visible from external view and tapers to a narrow apex. In most other chalcidoids, the attachment is more rounded and is usually hidden from external view.
