Interantennal projection (IAP) from lateral view [35]

Description

The interantennal area is the area of the face between the toruli that is delineated by the inner margins of the scrobes. This area is convex or otherwise projects in some chalcidoids and is therefore visible in lateral view. An expanded, discoid interantennal projection occurs in some Chalcididae (Delvare, 1992; Wijesekara, 1997). Citations: LaSalle (1987: 3); Delvare (1992: 15); Wijesekara (1997: 4); Heraty (2002: 6).
