Socketed MPS [12]

Description

An MPS that is socketed at its base occurs in other Proctotrupomorpha, including Diapriidae (Basibuyuk and Quicke, 1999) but not Mymarommatidae. We coded for presence of a socketed MPS in Rotoita (cf. fig. 76, Gibson et al., 2007), although these authors state this as being a “fine groove… reminiscent as a socket”. If socketed, this would be the only occurrence reported for Chalcidoidea. Citation: Basibuyuk & Quicke (1999: 3).
