Character

Trabeculae (internal ingrowths) on head anteriorly [28]

Description

Trabeculae are defined by the presence of an internal 'bar' derived from a cuticular infolding visible in slide mounts of Mymaridae (Schauff, 1984). Externally, the transverse trabecula of mymarids is similar to the transfacial line found in other taxa (character 30), including Adryas (Trichogrammatidae), but only mymarids and rarely Encyrtidae (Noyes, 2010) (e.g., Oobius) have the cuticular infolding. Citation: Gibson (1986: 6).
